Yildiray Yildiz Elected as Technical Associate Editor of IEEE Journal

Mechanical Engineering faculty Yildiray Yildiz is elected as a Technical Associate Editor (AE) for the IEEE Control Systems Magazine (CSM), one of the most prestigious journals in the field of systems and control, in July 2016. Apart from publishing the highest quality papers, CSM is “special in that it publishes tutorial and expository articles in all areas of control system design and applications. That requires AEs such as Yildiray Yildiz who have experience in developing and using a variety of estimation and control techniques in different systems”.

Yildiray Yildiz will be serving as one of the 22 editorial board members of CSM around the world, and he will be responsible for the publication decisions of scientific papers on various areas of system dynamics and control.

A typical publication decision process for associate editors involves finding around 5-6 experts in their fields and assigning these experts as reviewers for the paper to be evaluated. Based on the reviewer feedback, and his/her own evaluation, the associate editor makes a publication decision and communicates his/her decision to the editor in chief. This review process is very important in terms of publishing only the highest quality papers that will be beneficial for the whole community.

Yildiray Yildiz is also a member of IEEE Conference Editor Board as an Associate Editor since 2015.
