ARTI BOYUT İNOVASYON MÜHENDİSLİK SAN. TİC. LTD. ŞTİ
BilMech Student and Alumnus Establish Company to Develop a 3D Printer that Simultaneously Prints Ceramics and Biomaterials

Erdem Çağatay (BilMech 2014 Graduate, currently M.S. student at TOBB-ETU Mech. Eng. Dept.) and Mustafa Üşenmez (BilMech Senior Student) received funding from Republic of Turkey Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology and KOSGEB, R&D and Innovation Programme for their R&D projects. They established their own company “Artıboyut İnovasyon Mühendislik San. Tic. Ltd. Şti.” with Techno-Initiative Capital Support Programme. The company is located in Bilkent Cyberpark Tepe building.

Erdem Çağatay and Mustafa Üşenmez have two goals:

i) to reduce Turkey’s dependence on overseas manufacturing technologies

ii) to develop a new technology to transform every material to the filament and print multiple materials simultaneously using a 3D Printer.

This polymer filament transformation technology will also make it possible to recycle materials from faulty 3D-printed parts and use them for new products. Moreover, products containing ceramics and biomaterials will be manufactured for biomedical applications such as dental implants, prosthetics and orthopaedic implants, which is not possible without the laser sintering 3D Printer technology.
