Dr. Eren Billur graduated from Başkent University, Department of Mechanical Engineering in 2007 as Summa Cum Laude. He completed his master's degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2008 and his Ph.D. degree at The Ohio State University in 2013, both in mechanical engineering. His doctoral research centered on metal forming technologies and advanced sheet materials. He has worked as an assistant professor at Atılım University and Manager and Chief Engineer at Billur Metal Form. Throughout his professional career, he has published numerous journal papers, book chapters, conference proceedings, and authored a book on hot stamping. He is a regular columnist for Metalforming Magazine's "Cutting Edge" column and holds a patent granted in 2025. Dr. Billur also serves as a technical instructor, speaker, and seminar organizer, frequently sharing his expert knowledge across the international automotive and metal forming industries.

Dr. Eren Billur currently works on advanced sheet metal forming technologies, including press hardening/quenching steels, warm forming of aluminum, metal forming simulations, press technologies, and material characterization.
