Our profound loss
Bilkent is deeply saddened by the loss of alumni in the recent fire disaster at Bolu Kartalkaya. We extend our condolences to all those who were impacted by this disaster.
Mechanical Engineering Department alumnus Alp Mercan ('24) lost his life in an act of valor. In his memory, a ceremony will be held at the 10th Industrial Graduation Projects Fair of Mechanical Engineering on Thursday, May 29, 2025. The ceremony will be followed by the presentation of Alp Mercan Best Project Awards to cherish his memory. Please join the Bilkent community, alumni, students, and their families in this day of remembrance.
