ÖZ GEÇMİŞ

Yiğit Karpat lisans derecesini Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi'nden (1996) aldı. Master'ını Makine Mühendisliği'nden Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi'nde (2000) yaptı. Doktora derecesini Endüstri Mühendisliği Rutgers Üniversitesi'nden (2007) aldı. Bilkent Üniversitesi'nde Endüstri Mühendisliği Bölümü'nde Doçent olarak görev yapmaktadır ve Makine Mühendisliği'nde ortak bir atamaya sahiptir. Bilkent Üniversitesi Mikro Sistem Tasarım ve Üretim Merkezinde aktif olarak görev almaktadır. CIRP - Uluslararası Üretim Akademisi'nin ortak üyesidir.

-Fizik esaslı analitik ve hesaplamalı yöntemler kullanarak proses malzeme etkileşiminin modellenmesi
- Polikristalin elmas (PCD) mikro kesici takımların tasarımı ve imalatı,
- Karbon fiber takviyeli polimerlerin, titanyum alaşımlarının, silikon ve camın işlenmesi,
Serbest biçimli optiğin üstün hassasiyetle işlenmesi,
-Micro stereo-litografi
